Re: Generic vs OEM Gasket
Each to their own. Even dealers can't agree. I bought a used Honda XR125 for our youngest. I prefer the Yamaha brand since they support their old bikes with spares unlike Honda and some others but I picked it up for a song from a kid who has outgrown it. It is actually old wine in a new bottle. It's ...

Generic vs OEM Gasket
Let me share something I found out today. I bought a generic complete gasket set for my XT 600 for = $37 at the wholesaler. I only needed the clutch and flywheel cover gaskets but they are =$40 for the two OEM. The brand is NE Brand Super Gasket which has some funny Chinglish on the package ...

Re: Eric66 34L Resto
Am glad that I am not the only one with a thumper problem though only one of them is a Tenere. Am envious of Ericls harem of beauties. Once you start its hard to stop so shed space is the limiting factor. The one on the left has armour around the light and dash. I have put the same onto mine. It ...

Re: My African 34l Dream
Thanks guys. Found a lot of help on this forum and Horizons who had a meeting up the road last weekend. I couldn't go because of work but would have liked to have learnt from the experts. Have been hoping to do a big ride for some time and going the 550 km to the meeting would have been a nice pipe ...

My African 34l Dream
Finally got a picture to load.
I qualified to join since I have a 84 34l, the original Tenere an African word for solitude. I live in Africa on the route of many adventure riders and ride alone almost every day commuting 12km of dirt and 40km of freeway.

Re: Teneres on the road, post it here.....
You would not believe that I was soaked during a sever drought when I took that pic of my 1984 34l project in progress. Went on an adventure ride to town tempting the storm gods who caught up with me around and was forced to endure a cuppa at the Steampunk cafe. Then headed up home into into hills ...

Re: My 3AJ rebuild
Wow Keny. That's a hell of a project. Once I figure out how to upload pics onto this forum which is as old in technology as my 34l I'll show you mine. I guess Mezo would call my work tinkering rather than restoring so will do so in the 34l section. But I am lucky to have enjoyed riding it from the ...
