Well the old girl has been stripped down and the motor split, not too many nasty surprises so far. Some hard facing issues on 3rd and 5th gears, little end on conrod worn and countershaft sproket splines really worn. Looks like it's on it's 1st oversize already as the piston has 50 on the top, apart from that it was very clean inside and came apart very easy! I have been checking out the net for parts and the only one that I can't buy is a left sidecover , so if anyone knows of one please let me know. Luckily the tank and seat are excellent so basically a respray and a recover only. Are conrod kits still available if I have to replace? The cam chain was absolutely shagged, you could almost wear it as a bowtie!
The bus is a 75 Bedford YRT fitted out to carry my speedway car in the back, motorhome in front. Will put up a better picture of gears later. I should be able to pilfer gears from my original 34L motor (owned a 34L along time ago)that I replaced with a low km XT550 motor 20yrs ago, my brother still has it in his shed.

Finished pulling everything apart, the swingarm has a good gouge in it from the chain coming off (probably replace it), the frame has a crack near the left footrest, the rear wheel is pretty good. The non original front end might be from a 88 model? It has a Nissen 2 spot caliper and Showa forks. Tempted to retain it, but would rather go all original. Will see my engine guy about the crank and head this week and check up on powder coating the frame.

Don't forget the tip you just had about the oil pump, very good tip that was & essential for you whilst your at this stage.
And another thing before you powdercoat, was the side stand OK or did you need to rest a shipping container under it to make the bike stand upright? you may need to tweak the mounting point before you go painting, possibly a blob of weld if its pointing to far forward.
Mezo.

Went into my local Yamy dealer and asked about some parts, 2 days later I picked up a new front guard for $189! Also bought a complete exhaust of USA ebay for a TT600 83 for $149 , no rust very clean, only have to weld nut plates on muffler for the protector, shipping $87 all US dollars too!
