TL;DR - complete Tenere jigsaw for sale.

Regretfully I am considering selling on my 3AJ Tenere project.
I bought this bike complete but in average condition. After getting it ridable I took it for its maiden voyage only to collect a roo (kangaroo, I'm Australian, roo's are c*!ts) at speed and turned the bike from a restoration into a ...

Re: The most expensive 3AJ i've seen to date.

I have just been in the garage to grab another beer from the fridge and I took a moment to look at my 3AJ Tenere project which is quite literally in its individual components waiting for a rebuild and thinking - "you know what, I would just about pay $15k for this bike to magically assemble itself ...

Try https://www.megazip.net/

I've bought a few gearbox parts for my 88 3aj there. Unsure if you'll have any luck with an entire gearbox though.

Yes, he is doing the top of the piston, that's already on the cards. He also offers a service where he does the internal barrel, rods etc.
See I knew that powder coating caused heat issues, which is why I was looking at alternatives when I came across Cerakote. (I did not want to paint due to the ...

When you say Ceracoated you don't mean ceramic coating? your talking powder coating right?

Mezo.

https://www.cerakote.com/

That's the stuff Mezo. There is a bloke who owns a shop and is a distributor for the stuff not far from me. He's got some really good tried and proven examples of the ...

Re: 88' XT600Z Tenere rebuild/modernisation/bastardisation.

The crank was back months ago. Unfortunately, family life (four kids) getting married and a new job with a senior role has seen me oh so incredibly time-poor.
I have two weeks off, the plan was to spend some time in the shed working on both my bikes until the inlaws decided to up and move interstate ...

Re: display cutout

Its not quite the same but I had a Toyota van years ago that had the exact same issue and the problem was the oil pressure.

Re: Gearbox bearings

Is that your fith gear?
I had to replace the fith gear on my 3AJ with 98000 kilometres that looked very much the same. From all the similar issues ive seen, it seems to be a common issue with the Tenere. All my other internals were pristine.

Re: Wanted Motor for 3AJ in Aus

I'm sorry I can't help you mate but I can't help but scratch my head at putting a 3AJ engine in a go-kart. Seems completely unsuitable? :bigeek:
