Re: 1VJ front axle

Thanks a lot Matt, that was what I was sorta hoping when I asked, that someone would have one out.

Re: 1VJ front axle

Thanks guys, I did manage to confirm that the diameter is 15mm, but the bigger question was actually the length, which I can't find anywhere.

1VJ front axle

Does anyone have a 1VJ axle laying around, so they can give me the length and diameter, please?

Trying to work out whether I can make different front end bits to work together, and I only realised late in the piece that I hadn't factored the axle requirements into it :foot_tap:

Soooo. if anyone ...

Yamaha 88 Tenere decals on ADV

Apologies if this is off-base, if so, Mez, can you just delete it, please?

I get notices from the Oz Flea market on ADV for things I may want, and this popped up last night apparently, I'd never use them but a lot of you guys put effort into making your restored bikes look good, so I though it may ...

Re: Bike Lifts

Thanks guys, I was just thinking that I wasn't blowing enough money ;^)

My weakness is bike bits and tools, not buy new clothes for ages, reasonable, but oh, new toy, and I'm hooked ;^)

FYI, if anyone else is goin' to get one while they're on special, may wanna take the son along, they're 42.3 KG ...

Re: Carb replacement with Mikuni or Keihin?

Don't know about a pair of Mikunis or Kheins, but you can get the Grizzly 660 2 into 1 manifolds, the 2 slightly shorter ones (without the boot) in this pic are the 660 ones, the other one is the 600 one I was trying to get at first.

Re: pics of rear shock linkage mount for XT660?

A Mikuni CV carb off a KLR650 or ,um,I don't know if I should say this, errr, ....................... a Harley Sportster, should be a good single carb setup.

Yep, I've gotta admit that the HSR-42, like I have on my XV1000 on a single carb manifold, is the one that I want to use on the XT ;^)

In ...

Re: pics of rear shock linkage mount for XT660?

If you fit brackets to the same dimentions as the 660x you'll need to fit a shock to match & loose wheel travel, the 660 only has 200mm.

Wouldn't a swing arm from something like a 3AJ be a better option?

Have you seen the Swingarm thread

Hi Rick,

This is part of an exercise to reduce ...

pics of rear shock linkage mount for XT660?

Hi guys, would anyone have their bike in a state that'd make it easy to take some pics of the frame mounting that anchors the front of the linkage for the rear shock?

I got a clean steel swing arm & linkage off an XT660X to convert the rear of my 1VJ to a disk brake rear, but while I wondered what ...
