Hello I am in the process of refreshing my 1986 XT 600. When i disassembled the bike I did not note the oil dry sump line routing.
Specifically the lower line that goes on the bottom of the oil tank to the bottom of the engine by the output shaft and sprocket.
I am unable to locate a clear picture on this so I am confused where it should go. When I direct the line to go up by the sprocket it seems like it would directly interfere with the chain. Please help me out if you can. Thanks

Re: Oil Line routing
If it is anything like my 3aj, there should be a hose bracket/clamp that bolts to the lower rear engine mount to hold the oil line away from the chain run. It runs close to the chain and front sprocket, but the bracket prevents it from contacting.

Re: Oil Line routing
Okay thanks. It looks like my case was welded there so I think the clip is missing on mine. The hose must have been floating there. So yours goes against the engine case, fastened in by a clip bolted to the case?
Thanks for help again.
