3yf Wheel Offset Measurements

Post by Jakeyt »

Hi All

I'm in the process of re-building a 3yf, unfortunately I sent my wheels to a complete and utter W*"^"R by the name of Martyn Hay at Hay Cycle Engineering in Eastry, Kent, one to be avoided. Now 4 months later and with the threat of legal action I finally collected my badly powdercoated and unbuilt wheels from him today. I have found someone to fit spokes and rebuild etc but I have been asked for the offset measurments.

Can anyone help

Cheers

Sorry, no idea, but I deleted your phone number for your security. If you went to a larger builder they may have the dimensions on record, Talon, central hagon or the like.

Usually there is no offset on front wheels, rim runs symmetrical to hub, this is at least tradition from the 600 models. So there should only be 2 spoke types in the set, right? Front fork is symmetrical to frame ...

This is different on rear wheels which have the chain and cush drive on one side, so the swing arm is usually not symmetrical as well.
