On another post I'd said I'd put up a photo of my 34L resto.
As a serial bike restorer I can honestly say this was the worst bike I've restored.
Being an early 34L real parts are a nightmare to get, and basically everything was either worn out, butchered or not even present.
If you're interested I'll go into more detail, but I don't have many photos

This bike basically had everything done.
Wheels were stripped, the hubs powder coated and re-laced with stainless spokes. The rims were good enough to reuse and were fitted with Conti TKC80.
Swing arm was vapour blasted and fitted with new bearings and seals.
It had a new Wilbers 540 rear shock and Wilbers fork springs. The fork tubes were vapour blasted and fitted with new bushes and seals.
Frame powder coated. All the ancillary stuff coated in satin black. It has the oversize foot rests off the forum.
Front brake was vapour blasted to clean the seals and then powder coated. New pads new piston new seals and a braided HEL line.
The rear brake had new shoes.
All the fasteners are stainless where they can be, everything else like wheel spindles springs etc have been replated.
The seat cover and seat foam were from Kedo.
Handle bars are Renthal Dakar and it did have standard genuine Yamaha grips on, but I've fitted better grips to stop the vibration.

The bodywork has a story.
The picture of the original bought bike has what appears to be a correct tank. When I looked into the tank on purchase it looked to have a very thick green liner in it. After stripping the bike I found some classic bodgery. Someone had cut the bottom out of the tank and inserted a Kawasaki KX plastic tank, they'd then foam filled the gap and welded a fake bottom to the tank which looked almost original.
I managed to source a mint petrol tank from a guy in Kent who'd had it in his attic for 20 years. However the issue was he wouldn't post it, I had to collect it. Luckily I was working down there and literally walked 300 yards to pick it up from the hotel I was staying.
I've got new genuine Yamaha panels for it but she's currently running the Australian panels but genuine front mudguard.
It was painted by my friend down the road who paints everything for me.

That looks fantastico ! Am soldiering on with my 1VJ project. What headers and muffler have you got there and where from ?
