XTZ 690 rally light by Kev Thomas @ Woodcutterbikes

Post by Mezo »

Kev`s words,,,,,"After just four weeks amounting to four weekends and six four hour evenings project XTZ 690 rally light is ready to roll. Just waiting on the seat and heated handlebar elements and we are ready to start testing.this project started when I concluded that my woodcutterbikes XTZ 760 RR is just a bit too precious for anything but racing. As anyone that knows me well , I am not a KTM person.the chance purchase of a set of new meca systems tanks got my mind thinking and this is the result. XTZ 660 frame with XTZ 660 engine fitted with a gas flowed head with over racing valve train. JE 102mm 11.1 piston and a heavy duty clutch. Hand made exhaust system from what was kicking around in the workshop. Suzuki DRZ400 radiators. Yamaha TTR600 swingarm , linkage and back wheel WR426 forks yokes front wheel and rear subframe including airbox. OHlLINS shock.most of the work went into getting the linkage to work correctly, making a quick release mounting system for the fuel tanks. And a strong sump guard with integral water tank .navigation tower and AIT box adapter. I hope you like the results as much as I do .let the testing begin starting with a round trip to erg chebbi for five days of dune riding. . thankyou to Martin Ward at Motoward and stephil engineering for there quick turnaround of precise engineered parts.

Hi, I am Klaus from Germany and I want to do nearly similar Project.
Not a Rallye Bike, but a Adventure Bike, could you help me to solve the TTR swingarm Lingage Problem, do you change the mounts on the frame or
do you change the lingage/öhlins ? I would be happy to hear from you.

Best Rgerds Klaus
