Alternator casing for a 43F

Post by shivadread »

Greetings XT Guru's
I'm after an Alternator casing for my 1986 XT 43F as mine seems to be warped and is leaking oil. My engine has just been totally rebuilt and there is a small seepage coming from it.
I have seen one for sale on evil bay in Germany but it is for a XT 2KF / 2NF (1987-1989).
I am wondering if this will fit mine as the guy selling it seems to think it might not.

Many Thanks in advance

I had a leak on mine, turned out to be the grommet surrounding the stator wiring was leaking oil past it, then down the neutral light wire. I cleaned all the oil away from the grommet and sealed it with yamabond #4 as well as the channel the neutral wire goes through. Stopped my leak completely. Use a new gasket and all the screws evenly tightened.
