The new old bike

Picked this up today

Had a short blat on it and it feels fun. Hoping to get out tomorrow for a longer test ride, but it was in budget and had fab extras for the money so Im well chuffed so far
Front end feels really soft so will need to invest in some springs so any advice will be very useful
And need a short type screen so may try and find an old 660 one and fix it on to keep some naked blast from chest

Had it out for a few hours today and its really nice. But after steepping down froma new Tenere 660z it does feel slower and more twitchy. Guess thas to be expected, but comfy and will do the job. Back end is squeeking like an old hospital bed mind !!! It seems to be a Royal Enfield on steriods and is happy plodding at 60/65 mph so wont win any land speed records, but I knew it was about this when I bought it

I suspect you would have to neglect an xt600e a lot more than a 660z to break it.

Ha.. I was very tempted by the one for sale on ebay recently... a blue 1990 model, but sensibility got the better of me, as my ocd behaviour wouldnt have allowed me to use it and I would have just ended up polishing it so this can be crashed happily

Fit is superb, size is fantastic


Also had some XT 600 tenere bits off ebay that had some risers as the standard XT ones even with an aftermarket bar riser added didnt feel high enough and for a tenner they were cheaper than getting new Renthals

Doh realised put wrong riser pic up, so heres the higher ones


This bike .... although still slow in feel... is just getting better and better
