Need some help re: swing arm

Right, I am stuck - my 3TB is slowly going back together and I am just trying to fit the swing arm but I am stuck. This is the parts diagram:

Image

What has me foxed is on the main pivot - specifically parts #7 and #49. Now the diagram shows #7 between the swing arm and the rubber grommet #6 that fits inside the end cap #5
If I fit it up in this order the end cap and grommet don't fit on the end of the swing arm at all - the washer blocks them. To me it makes more sense that #7 fits inside the end cap and then the rubber grommet goes in - this them fits to the swing arm. Is the diagram wrong?

Finally what is #49? I don't seem to have that at all plus my chain roller seems to be way too loose between the flange on the swing arm and the frame - does #49 support the chain protector (#9)

Thanks!

I had the identical problems your having, i was tossing around for hours trying to suss that exact same part, it didn't make sense at all.

Its been two years since i did it so i cannot remember what i did in the end? but yeah i think the drawing is wrong as well personally.
Does #7 recess in to the swing arm itself to keep crap out of the bearing? possibly rubber?

There will be other guys chime in soon & help as we have all been here, them more recent then me.

Mezo.

Well I'm glad its not just me!!

#7 Is the same size as the swing arm outer which means it can'y go between the rubber and the swing arm. I currently have it inside the end cap which, when fitted to the swing arm, makes a lot of sense.

Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Any thoughts on the #49 issue? Do you have something between the orange roller and the small flange on the swing arm?

Thanks

Well i am a plonker, i just remembered i have a factory service manual sitting right next to me for the 3TB

I brought it off ebay couple of months ago as it was cheap (not that i own a 3TB) but thought it would be handy for the forum, the diagram in here is identical to the fiche you posted, so either they are both drawn wrong or we both made the same cock up (pair of numptys)

I can give you all the torque settings for them nuts if you want? do you have them?

Mezo.

If its the same as the 3aj, the washers go inside the end caps followed by the seals, and is 49 another washer in the other end cap?

I got a response over on ADVrider that says the same, looks like the exploded diagram is wrong.

Looks like I get to refit my swing arm tonight then.

Thanks for the help guys!
