It's seen some wheather that bike, nowt that a bit of tlc won't cure, it would be a great story.

I believe this is the original throttle and switch from the 83 Tenere delivered in Australia, does anyone know what else it came out on?

Eric,
This throttle assembly came from the 1980-82 XT250 - see photo below.
Last time I checked they were available through boats.net and probably cmsnl.com - if you are after cables as well then if you use the model prefix 53R followed by the respective throttle cable 5 digit part numbers you will get the ones that are the correct length for the XT600. CMSNL regognises both 53R part numbers.
Here's the "boats" page for the throttle housing
http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamah ... parts.html
53R was the '84 facelift of the original 39E (Australian Design Rule certified version of 34L) for Australia / South Pacific / South Africa.
55W onward used the "up & across" 43F housing with the paired cables (better IMHO), but if doing an accurate resto use the 3Y1 assy.
Hope this helps.

Hi guys, I'm trying to bid on this but he does not ship to Australia and I can't send a message because of this. He only ships to USA , so I was wondering if one of our American friends could contact him through E-Bay and tell him to contact me via email at
bananashack@westnet.com.au

These are the genuine switch set.

Heres a tip Eric (and what ive always done) go to ebay.com (not .au) and log in that way.
I do the same with German ebay .de & France .fr etc etc, its a bit cheecky doing it like this but your able to view & PM them, and often it lets you bid & buy the item, then all you have to do is talk them in to posting it to you, there`s a lot of guys around the world who don`t like posting overseas.
Just go & bid or buy it.
But don't try to snipe it Eric without doing a one dollar test bid a few days before, if it blocks you from bidding contact the seller & ask him to allow you to bid (worked for me before).

Bloody brilliant - takes a lot of work over the years to get a bike with such authentic "patina."
