I have got the black, rubbery stuff in my TT seat aswell. It does the trick.
Very comfy and firm.

Did a test run of the new seat, put up about 250km's in around 4.5 hrs,some tar and a lot of gravel and still got a sore tailbone So I ripped off the cover of my original seat and got a big knife out.


This time I decided to change the pitch of the seat (raise the front and lower the rear) as standard they slope toward the tank which squashes ya balls up and puts ya hips in an uncomfortable angle and also incorporate a soft spot where ya tailbone sits.You can see in this pic how I built up the front and shaved the rear, I also made the seat wider so it spreads the load.


Then I shaped it with the grinder.

And put the thin layer on.

You can see the difference in the pitch when it's on the bike and it feels much better.


And the soft spot feels nice!

Cripes Eric, is that recess to place your nutsack on?
I guess if you have balls of steel they need a nice resting place.

After 25yrs of racing speedway cars with hard seats my tailbone is a little worse for wear and it pisses me off that after 2hr's of riding all I want to do is get off the bike, I'll keep trying to find an answer.

Hmm my seat is also a bit on the squidgy side...feels like you have a nappy one?..ha..maybe when I've run out of other stuff to do will sort it.
I did do something similiar with some duct tape on a yz foam that looked like a pit bull had been chewing one side of it.

Put a liner in the tank today POR15, pretty straight forward, flush out with the marine wash then the rust convertor, flush out again and then dry it out completely using a heat gun or hair dryer. Well I don't have a heat gun but the missus has a hair dryer , just don't stick it in the filler hole and let it go as they burn out in about 30 sec's Told the missus it was faulty and said I would buy her one next week she was off to the shops for a new one straight away, even let me use it to finish the job

I laced up the wheels myself but took them to the guy that did my 1st bike to check and fit the Dunlop 605's, they were very close but he went over them with his spoke tension wrench and got them perfect Straight home and put them on the bike, geez she looks nice




This bike stands way higher then the old one, I've measured the spring and they appear to be the same but I can only just touch the ground when I sit on it and I'm 6'3" and 110kg When I was getting the tyres fitted I checked out some of the TT600's he restore's and the latest basket case he bought has the engine number 39E000525, Got the day off tomorrow so will hopefully finish the paint job on the tank etc.
