Started putting a few new bits on today, chain rollers.
And some swing arm bling.
Brake caliper all nice and shiny.
And all brand new switch gear and master cylinder etc.
Also changed the oil on the XT600 I bought and found it had about 4 litres

Are you sure? four litres. 
Is that an OEM clutch perch Eric or one of them $20 jobbies on ebay? i managed to find three of them obsolete RH switches on ebay in Greece, they was 18 quid each so i took a punt & got all three, hope they are the right ones?
And i spoke with Dave & Bernieboy about them clocks, seems Paul, Dave & Bernie have all bought a set from that guy, apparently they are OEM but from a DT, the tacho runs faster than an XT & there is an additional oil warning light.
I was pricing the parts separately & just an OEM tacho unit on its own was double that price.
Only six left now (33 sold) here is the link if you wanted a set.

The clutch perch is OEM, remember the choke lever bolts on underneath, don't know if the cheapo ones have that as on later bikes the choke was mounted elsewhere.

Went down the local Honda dealership (they use to have Yamaha as well) to ask about some sprockets and a chain as the spare parts man really looks after me with a nice discount 
, well fuck me they had everything in stock 16 tooth front ($15)and a 40 rear($28), JT brand which is Japanese and a RK chain($155)
Went home and bolted them on and also the front disc.
Nice original disc with plenty of thickness left 3.8mm! Thought I had better get a wriggle on as I ordered a set of Dunlop D605 tyres new for $149 delivered
Only need to paint the tank, head light cowl and side covers and she will be done.
This is the original tank off the old girl, needs a liner but will come up nice. Also dug out a bash plate and gave it a clean, but I won't fit it until I have ridden it for a while just so I can see if there are any oil leaks.
Fired up the XT, (shit it is original and starts 1st or 2nd kick) so the Missus could have a ride, she has not ridden for 20yrs since she had a YZ 125 but was soon putting around the yard and now wants to get her license and has claimed it as her bike

The seat on the "Old Girl" was way too soft and would give me a real sore tailbone after a day's ride so I got on the 
and did some 
and decided it did not look to hard to fix.Off to the foam and rubber shop and bought 3 different foams, the black one is rubbery and firm, the pink is medium and the green is very thin to use as a cover.
This is the seat I bought off Mezo, got a big knife and cut a large section out the same thickness as the black and pink combined. Actually took a little more from the rear after this shot.
Then cut the foam the right length but a little wider and used spray adhesive to stick it together.It drys within minutes, then I used my grinder with an old flapper disc to shape the sides, best to use a practice piece of foam to see how it works.
Added a bit on the corner.
Then ya spray the sticky glue all over and lay the thin green foam over the top to smooth everything out and trim the sides.
Then got the staple gun out and fitted the new cover.
Put it on the bike and it is nice and firm, similar to a new bike,will test it over the next few days.
Also did a bit on the tank and other bits.
Oh and before I forget, when I was at the foam shop they have air filter foam, the type ya oil in all different thicknesses, so I will go back and buy some and make my own
