I dunno how much these covers are, has anyone ever fitted one successfully??... I'd rather have one made fron scratch methinks... guy who did mine reprofiled the foam for me & made & fitted the cover ... all for £60 & it fits like a glove




Might be a bit more for 2 colours....

I only went with this supplier as apparently he has a good reputation, will take the cover to my local upholster to see if we can make it fit. Also this arrived today.

Nice, Karl had pointed out on one of my 34L`s it had a later disk with the drilled holes, so i dug through a box of bits i had scored on ebay (in Brisbane) last year, i got a seat, tank & other bits n bobs for $100 and i knew there was a hubb in the box & when i pulled it out last weekend it had the original slotted disk on it.

Well the tank I bought from Fred arrived, however it didn't have a very good voyage sustaining a nice big dent pushing the filler cap in .



Oh well ya get that sometimes, still happy with it though.

Bugger, still that wouldn't be to hard to fix Eric, its them side ones that are tricky.

I know a couple of lads in Perth who could fix that, he gets most dents out by cleverly drilling small holes on this inside/underside (25mm) which he later welds, he then gets in with his tools to get it back in shape & then finishes it with lead, not bog.

He does classic cars & gas tanks for guys restoring bikes, not cheap but a proper job that will last another 30yrs plus.

Went down the shed and made a slide hammer, took about 5 minutes.

Another 5 minutes and I had pulled the dented filler neck back up.



Inside this tank is like new with no rust or loose baffles.

Then I started looking at the rear shock, the new XT one is slightly different where the circlip holds the spring retainer, will have to do a few measurements as the XT has a adjuster rod up the centre of the shaft.

One fork leg has a bit of surface rust up above the triple clamps so I might see if the other forks that came with the bike and are Showa's are interchangeable.
