All fixed! What I had to do was reduce the thickness of one of the washers that lives inside the side cup covers (there are 3 side covers, the outer 2 each have a washer inside) this then gives more clearance when the bolt is tightened.

Missed out on the oil tank and line and front wheel on German E-Bay so I will go to plan B and repair the tank and line and fit a non original front wheel until I can replace it.

Hi Eric,
bad luck on ebay.de... :-(
But there are other ways left to go.
Although I don´t know if "they" ship worldwide.
There is this side:
http://bike-teile.de
Here are german bikebreaker and bikedealer selling their stuff.
You have to E-Mail them in advance if they ship international. (or ask me ) But Maybe it´s woth a try
On this side there is a searchengine. I searched for : Öltank XT 600 ...and had about 15 hits
XT 600 and Vorderrad gave about 10 hits.

Eric
Here a buy now for a 50T model.
http://www.ebay.de/itm/OLTANK-OLLEITUNG ... 0632602737
And another(still 1 euro.....)
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Yamaha-XT-500-60 ... 0675195344
Remember its not a tenere tank, means no oil conection to the cooler. This goes from tank to crank case. But its a cheap one 26 Euros.

Thanks Karl, I can get an XT tank locally. What I might do is modify the XT tank to accept the oil line from the top as it already stamped the same shape for the oil line, only have to drill the holes and solder the nuts in place then cover the original lower outlet. With the oil line I will braze the Tenere end onto the XT one as mine is damaged on the flexible section.

Eric
This will fit the newer XT´s.I don´t know if this will fit a 39E.It will not on mine as 55W has those two bolts that are located on disc outer part.On your UFOs you can see those two holes unique for 55W and XT´s of that year.
How many side covers do you have allready???? hahahahaha
Are you looking for a front weehl too?
