This weekend I put my newly rebuilt front end on, which I put a set of Wilbers/Promoto progressive springs in. I also cranked up the preload in the rear in a vain attempt to make it more in balance with the now stiffer front end.
These changes have made a tremendous difference in how the bike feels and rides, much to the better. So far I have only ridden it on city streets and a very short test ride on a gravel/dirt road but still the difference is very pronounced and I'm well pleased with how it rides now compared to before. No more rocking chair, or at least a lot less of it.
But on regular tarmac roads it have become very prone to pulling wheelies all of a sudden and I can even fairly easy "bounce" it up in 3rd. Something that was impossible (for me) with the stock setup.
Now for the question, at last..
Why is this? Better traction or a result of the stiffer front end? Or because of me adding preload to the rear spring?
