Wow Geoff that Tenere looks better than when it came out of the factory.
Just stunning.
Just stunning.

Re: Geoff's 3AJ rebuilds....
A few random pics of Ten 2 ...
This shaft is knackered....

My cheap Halfords puller..

The oil filter cover threads have been bodged....

These were the bolts holding it on....

Obviously its been apart before, this fell out of the clutch sidecover....

The engine, needs a piston, conrod, rings & rebore ..... 4th & 5th gears are fucked.... so I rang the 'guru' for a price to
replace all my bits, he wouldn't give me a price till he'd seen my engine.... so I chucked it all into boxes & off I
went to see him.... several weeks ago
he was gonna email me with a detailed list of what I need....
Oh & if he rebuilds it for me its £600 labour.... sounds a lot I guess, but he does a lot more than you & I would
For instance, all the 6mm holes are drilled deeper & longer studs are used... also included in the price, he rebuilds the
carbs to the state they came out of the factory....
He's doing his Morrocco rally support thing now so I'll have to wait till he gets back.... (he was gonna do it before he went
hmmm)....
More pics....

I want this bike to have twin discs so I'm gonna fit Super Ten forks, I've managed to get a S10 bottom yoke off ebay
S10 one is on the left....

So, pressed the 3AJ stem out of the yoke & into the S10 one....

Tested it in the frame, with fairing etc to make sure nothing is catching or rubbing..

Now that I know that fits everything is going off to powder coaters, including the wheel rims.... as an experiment
see what they look like

Re: Geoff's 3AJ rebuilds....
A week later....

Got myself a set of stainless spokes, am gonna have a go a building these wheels myself & will get them checked
afterwards....

Front one done...

Oh the Aussies will love this bit......
Got myself a Super Ten to rob all the bits off for my twin disc conversion....

The spare bits that came with it....
Got it all for............£50

My favourite job, re-building scrap brake calipers...

Look at the pads

Re: Geoff's 3AJ rebuilds....

was there powdercoating in the spoke-nipples's holes when you rebuild the wheel?
Ill be powdercoating my rims too, but Im going to use blue aluminium spoke-nipples...
My supplier told me I need to drill the holes up to fit them (Im using 4mm spokes, hence the drilling) but (yeah-but-no-but) did you need to drill the holes in the rimm to acomodate the nipples inthere?
I can imagen that there would be some coating inside these hole?
was there..?
and.. how did you solve that?
any close-up images?
cheers!

Re: Geoff's 3AJ rebuilds....
Hi Patrick, I was expecting to have to open up the holes a bit with a drill but I didn't need to, the spoke nipples were a nice snug fit....

Re: Geoff's 3AJ rebuilds....

cleaned up

I've reversed the pistons back the other way now...... Mezo & Dan

Not much difference between the excels & the powder coating....

Forks done, just waiting for stickers...

S10 Triples, stripped of paint, polished, laquered & fitted in the frame...

shock tarted up....

swing arm done, just waiting for bearings & bushes...

Sexy twin discs.....

a few bits & pieces...

Got one of these.....

I also got a fairly new 3AJ wiring harness off German ebay too, not sure if I'll be using that or the 3TB harness,
depends which engine I fit...
Got it all painted, but, spot the deliberate mistake....
Took the 3AJ one instead of the S10 one.......

& this is where I'm at with Ten 2..... up to date...
