34L factory service manual

Postman pat delivered a 90 page factory service manual (1983 XT600 ZL) first edition in mint condition.

Got a nice wiring diagramin the back as well.

Need to know anything just ask.

Mezo,

I need the specs for a 34L rear shock. Eye to Eye, piston travel (?), spring strenth (rate? in newtons? etc...........

I have a mate in the Netherlands who's trying to locate (or have made up)a good rear shock for my bike that's being rebuilt for a rough trip.

any info would be appreciated

You can put the 50T on there Paul (has damping adjuster knob) they come up weekly on ebay & dirt cheap.

Which shock do you have? with out without the black adjuster at the bottom.

it looks like I've got the 50T, buts its stuffed and in bits. The bloke in the Netherlands has a ohlins off his 1998 TT. I would need a new spring and a new rod and eye for the bottom end. The TT has a clevis set up. The new spring and eye set up look like costing around 150 euro, the shock is almost new and is financially viable as long as the geometry is close enough. The shock, eye to eye is about 12mm longer which doesn't phase me ( I'm fairly tall)

The book doesnt give the dimensions you was wanting anyhow, only spring length.

Ebay germany has them all the time (50T's) and so does the US but germany is cheaper when you add up shipping.

ActionMan has provided me with the info required. He just happened to have a stack of shocks at his disposal along with an analytical mind.

No i will get around to it, not here obvious as we have not got any electric as yet, but its coming soon.

I will get Danny boy to get them done at his work & PDF them, then i can host them.
