Re: Danjets Honda Transalp
remember this

i took to the rear rim with a die grinder to clean up the corrosion

then had a go at filling the damaged area with an alumaloy rod, first attempt

nearly done, used a sand paper cone in the die grinder to remove the excess filler

only problem is when i had a go at the front rim the corrosion is so bad the rim is beyond repair so
i will have to get replacement rims
it seems to corrode under the anodizing
sort of in layers like an onion

Re: Danjets Honda Transalp
got stuck into the removing the spokes today, started with the front wheel managed to undo 1 spoke to get the length, the others i cut.......with wire cutters.......by hand

nearly done, the spokes are fuckin hard to cut
so i prepared myself with some better tools when i did the rear

the grinder with cutting disk is the go

I hope you made careful note of the spoke/rim orientation and the hub/rim offset?

So I stopped worrying and lo and behold, things did get worse!

Re: Danjets Honda Transalp
made a start on the front headlight fairing

so i got the die grinder and started removing the previous "repair"

being plastic i have plastic welded some cracks together the larger areas need the carbon fibre kit
and i removed the screen

gave it a polish

OK i'm back, where have you been you might ask?
fooking crook i had a case of the great galloping bot rot, 8 days
any way on the mend now, my wheels and spokes finally arrived

only problem the spokes are not right

the bend is all wrong, so send back and get it sorted
