Carb kit interchangeability

Post by eldenhiemer »

Hello. Got a 34L 85 XT 600 that I want to rebuild the carb on but can not seem to find that year specific kit anywhere. Just wondering if there is any resources that lists comparable year models that have same kit?
Thanks

I wouldn’t worry about a kit. There’s only the sigma 6 I know of. You can get all the jets and seals you need from Yamaha. I’d get the next pilot jet size up as well as standard just in case you need it (exhaust etc) and the 3 different main jet sizes so you can play about. My 1vj uses the 48 pilot and the 150 main. I also have drilled the secondary with the sigma kit though but still in the process of testing it. That’s with an arrow can and the airbox lid removed.
Order at least two float bowl seals. When you open it you can swap the other in and let the old one “rest” after a clean to bring it back to size.
