That piece down the plug hole isn't magnetic so doing what Mezo says is all you have, Anything that you can fit down the hole with a real sticky glob of something to grab it, just don't let that glob drop

I have a2005 KLR now(since buying an electric start XT motor is not going to happen here) and need to get a thermobob unit (or make my own), since I live in cold climate and that where the "bob" helps. They tend to get hot on the top and way too cool at the cylinder base, bad jojo. It had a chunk of the broken "doohickey" go through the con-rod bearing so I got it cheap and rebuilt the motor 1-1/2weeks ago, don't really care for it, too bulky up top, but no more damn kicking and hot starting problems. The Yami's been sitting in the corner now, weeping.
