The top of the exhaust at it's highest is 8cm from the top of the oil bleeding bolt.
Or just count the cylinder fins down from the top....

Got some updates to post once I've taken photos.
Headers back from the ceramic coating.
Rear powder coat back, so the suspension linkages and swing arm are done.
Thought I had the bearings for the swing arm in stock but after messing around and thinking it was probably best to measure the old ones and compare to the new ones it turns out my stock ones were 29mm OD not 28mm as needed.
Still need to get plating away and bearing cups out of the headstock so the frame can go to powder.

Been working on the rear suspension.
New bearings, genuine Yamaha bushes and cup washers.

Bought an aftermarket chain wear block but not happy at all with it as the material is much harder than the original Yamaha, so had to buy a genuine Yamaha one which fits much better as it's a softer material.
The after market one could be made to fit with lots of fettling but not worth the effort.
New bearings and genuine Yamaha bushes.

Which after market guide is it? Just for others future info, if it's not that good then best avoided

There's quite a few on ebay and other places at the moment.
I expect they're scanned and three D printed. The colour is the giveaway. The genuine Yamaha is the slightly grey colour, the rigid plastic is the white as shown in the photo.
I'll make it fit by grinding away with the dremel.

Some motivation received this week.
Got the seat back from Viking seats. They did the other two Gauloise Blonde seats seen in my other builds.
Decided to go for the much longer Gauloise only style seen on the Stearns bike.



Alcantara on the top and vinyl on the sides. I'd have liked it a bit bigger and a bit longer but I'm probably being fussy.

Got the re-plated bits back, well not all of them. It seems that whatever you take, even with a photo of the bits laid out, you never get the correct bits back. If you take 57, you'll get 57 but they might not be what you started out with.
So the headlight surround, which makes the headlight look particularly bad.
I'll have to source a better one...
