Brake problem 3YF

Post by dan3 »

Hi everyone,
My bike was recently stolen and recovered a few days later. The lovely chaps who took it did the usual things like smashing the ignition barrel out, stripping the wires to hotwire it and bending the top yoke. :thanks:
There's one other issue since I got it back though, with the front brake. If you pull the brake while pushing the bike it feels like it's grabbing for a few seconds before it releases.
Has anyone come across this before? Bent disc or busted master cylinder maybe?
Thanks in advance :thumb:

Ah, that was nice of them.

Have you ridden the bike since? Does the brake lever pulsate when applied when moving like with a bent disk?

If you take the calliper off, does the piston move in and out ok still? Maybe they overcooked the brakes at some point on their little joy ride and something got damaged and seized.

I had my 3aj stolen last year and recovered shortly after, they had smashed the disk lock off with a crowbar or something and bent the disk amongst other things. it still worked ok, didnt stick on like yours, but pulsated like hell and needed a new disk.

Seems our old bikes are easy to steal.

Hopefully you get yours back up and running and on the road again soon.
