Crank Case cover compatibility?

Hey Everyone,
I tried searching, but the search engine was not kind with its results.
like may others my oil filter housing bolts have been stripped and heli-coiled by previous owners and it still doesnt torque up nice enough not to leak . So I'm looking for a better clutch-side case cover.
I wanted to confirm if the 3TB and onwards (Clutch side) Crank case cover (p/n: 3DS-15430-00) is compatible with the earlier 43f crank cases (p/n: 5y1-15431-03)
My photographic comparison of googled images seems like the insides match, I think the casting for the kickstarter and decomp mech has changed? but on a positive side, the gasket is the same for all years, so that suggests the mating surfaces are the same.

Has anyone tried swapping them in past?

Yeah it fits, we talked about this a few weeks ago & its been done by a guy on the HUBB, you have to blank off an oil line next to the oil filter with a bolt (yours doesn't have that oil line) and the blank plates for the kicker & decomp knock out.

I nearly bought a very original 83 model tenere instead... but $3500 and driving to Orange NSW is a bit of a turn off.
