Hi Geoff
Do you have a kit of cap head bolts which you use to replace the originals or do you ned to order them specially for each job? Do you coat them with copper grease to prevent binding in the alloy? How do you clean your carbies and do you treat them with anything to preserve the great look?

Fantastic work :congrats:

Didn't see any XT stuff at Rufforth on saturday, not many breakers there
There was a TT600 for 300 quid, had a 3TB engine in it, bit of a heap though, were you there on a white 4MY?... saw one in the car park.....

I was on my new Ten, if I'd known you were there I'd have bought you a cuppa....
Yes, that was my 4MY, it was a last minute decision to go.

There seemed to be quite a bit missing from that TT600 & it was rough, it must have been hard for you to leave it there

Great job on the carbs.

Hi John, yes I have a kit of 6mm & 8mm stainless bolts of all sizes.... I started off with a 6mm kit, then made up my own 8mm kit, I source all my bolts etc from autojumbles now (much cheaper).... all the bolts & washers for my carbs I picked up on Saturday... cost me about 6 quid. I always use copaslip on the threads when I fit the new bolts, nuts, etc...

I cleaned the carbs on my first Tenere with my home made soda blaster, then lacquered them to keep em clean, this time I used Safety Kleen carb cleaner on the inside & outside .....

Then stripped 'em, cleaned all the jets etc & finished the bits off with this...

Haven't decided if I'm gonna lacquer this set yet
