I've got a bit of a question about those transmissions, being from a XT550, the first gear has 30 teeth as does the TT600,
where as the Tenere has 31 teeth, has anyone fitted/used one in the Tenere?
Can the 31 tooth gear be replaced by the 30 tooth?
What will the difference be?

Well, I just pulled down the engine of my second 39E, so I'm talking about that I suppose, the 55W has the same gear.
34L-17211-00 is the 55W part #, I believe it became 99999-02306-00 and was used up till 1989.
But, CMSNL have 99999-02306 as being used in an 1986 XT500 from Austria, I'm surprised new XT500's still existed then, maybe thats just a CMSNL fuck up.
5Y1-17211-01 was the original XT550 #, 34K-17211-00 was the TT600 #.

I think the Austrians and Swedish got 500 3AJ's not 600.

I was under the impression the 550 gearset fitted the 34L`s

I believe everything is the same except 1st gear, which I have a NOS XT550 one in the shed, just wanting to know the consequences of it being in the 600.
I just pulled my second 39E engine and it looks like at some stage someone has replaced 5th gear as its in really good condition, but most of the other gears are quite rat shit, Im currently having a 3rd pinion made up. Ive seen a couple of NLA XT600 1st gears available for sale on fleabay.
