swing arm swap?

Post by xt addict »

how bad is the drum brake on the 1vj?
i am contemplating swapping the swing arm with a 3aj one with disc etc, then re-lacing the rear wheel with a 3aj hub, is this a good or bad idea??

Its a nice touch but not an essential upgrade, as you know Geoff`s done it.

If it was my bike id be putting in the effort on the front brake (which are pretty crap on all models)

the front doesnt seem to bad, grabs quite nicely, i have got to sort the forks out though, the guy i got the bike from was a proper short ass and softened the rear and let the air out of the forks and still couldnt reach the floor or get on it, when i get on it it sinks badly, so got to re set it all, i think i need to spend about £400 on it to get it all ship shape again, i will try to put a pick on here later
