I did have a few close calls, always do, I forgot to grab the GPS off the bike before I left it for recovery. I'm keen to get it back and check the log file for speed.

Hey Zonda, it was a great ride, if I was to do it again I would take three weeks leave to enjoy it a bit more.
Not that I don't enjoy long days in the saddle, just can't do it for two weeks in a row.
I'll see how I go with writing up some stories

In QLD we can buy back a write off. The price is based on what pickles auctions give Youi for the write off. But not allowed to do that in NSW.
That's if its written off. Still waiting on bike shop assessment

Glad you're mostly ok, Damo and everything was well sorted to get you and your bike home. Also glad you still enjoyed the ride and got most of it done, you rode some great tracks. Just need to work out if those sonic roo repellers work...

I also noted the neck brace in this photo. How did you feel with it on during the ride and after a significant tumble?

Hi Aaron

Only time I noticed the Atlas Air neck brace was trying to look straight down at something like when your having a piss, or when looking around to check luggage. I've given up wearing the chest strap as once your helmet is on, it can't go anywhere. It just the right size to fit my noggin without releasing the front latch, so its super quick on off.

My neck and head after was fine, however I'm yet to inspect the helmet.

I also had Thor knee guards and both knees are completely injury free, again I'm yet to inspect the pants for abrasion. However I'm pretty sure the guards saved my knees in this case.
The guards are quite bulky and take a few minutes to get on, but I can wear them all day and not take them off till after I've set camp.

I'm pretty happy with both as far as comfort and won't hesitate in wearing them all the time

Well this is pretty fucked, being back on MTB as part of my recovery and was getting close to getting the tenere going again till last night when out on a night MTB ride with club and tried to knock over a tree with my left shoulder, broke my scapula and heaps of muscles like the rotator cuff. This is worse than the roo, but I guess I was doing about 25 km/h.
Oh well, I'm still smiling so its not to bad

I got nick named Train Wreck when I hit the roo, this time I'm Mr One Percenter as the scapula represents 1% if bone breaks.
It was the ego charge if riding with other guys, chasing two others and knowing I had others behind chasing me, it was a crackin ride, no pun intended
