Could my hub be oval!?

That reminds me of the one set of GP110's I had put on my '88 a few years back . Spinning the rear by hand with the bike on a lift I could see some up/down on the tread , maybe 3-4mm , not a whole lot I didn't think at the time. Going down the road it'll be fine up to 55mph then start to bounce by 60mph , I can feel it on the footpegs . One day when I was riding and the sun was kind of low in the sky so I could see the shadow and the wheel jumping , there was sunlight showing under the wheel each time it bounced at 60-62mph. By 70-73mph it was just hammering down there , the swingarm would just be pounding up and down .No amount of balancing change how that tire ran.

Thanks for comments. The only advantage I can see is it is like riding over sand stutter bumps, without having to go off road

Woohoo with a caveat

Wheel rebuilt, new tyre fitted, test ride, I have a round wheel

Caveat.... One of the new spokes had buggered thread. Even cutting some off made no difference.
I now need to get the supplier to provide another spoke and remove the wheel again

Oh and no I couldn't reuse an old spoke, I cut them off!

Still, the ride is nice
