Ok here is #1.
At the moment it looks like my next project will be to rebuild a TT600. I am still in planning stage but
it will not be to original shape when I don´t like some parts and some other parts already
is missing. This engine has an issue as well, getting to hot cylinder/rocker cover according to PO,
melting the sealing between them.
I have written some in an engine thread about it and got some tip how to proceed with it.
I´m also keeping my eyes open for a #2 and maybe a #3 spare parts bike, XT´s or TT´s.





I have some ideas what kind of upgrades I would like to do to this bike. Not to modern though.
Aint much that beats the old look of this bike. Well, I have to say I like the look of an original 34L too.

Here is the parts for one of the upgrades I´m planning to do.
This is a major one because the TT now have drumbrakes in the front.
It wont change the original look much.

Maybe the wrong way to start the build but I like to sort out what´s useable.

This is my box with XTZ750 calipers.
I have to tear down all of them to see what´s ok and what has to be replaced.

Have you seen this pinbolt before. I haven´t. And I havent got a tool for them.
I have been at car/mc workshops asking. No one never seen it before.





The material in the pinbolts head is soft and breaks when using the biggest screwdriver I have in the track
that goes across the head. I found no other solution then drilling.

It's a normal pin but a previous owner has rounded the allen key hole and used a hack saw to cut slots for a screwdriver

Yeah, it could be like that.
But they looked factory made before I got loose on them.

Bloody hell.....my eyes aint what they once were.

Tonight I have amused myself pumping out the pistons from all calipers.
I do like this with the caliper hanging down, able to shake and wiggle it a little
meanwhile pumping. A lot of airbubbles will find it´s way out by itself then.





I had luck and 2 sets of rubber seemes ok to reuse.





And of course the real deal. Had those stashed away in a box from some other Yamaha.

My pistons seemes like new under that filth. But you really showed it is worth a try
whatever condition they in.

I said there was 2 set´s of rubber rescued but 2 thin piston rubber rings (2 in each caliper, 1 thin, 1 thick) isn´t really top notch.
Will consider replacing them. Not good cheating with the brakes.
