Just picked up a fairly clean 3yj the other day and had a couple of short rides, however, I've noticed what seems to be a large flat spot in the revs about 2000/3000.
Is this common or a well known issue and if so, is there a cure ??
Flat spot ?

Re: Flat spot ?
I don't think they were designed to be ridden much below 3000rpm, specially in 3rd, 4th or 5th, you end up damaging the teeth on the gears
Mine ran better with a free flow air filter, jet kit & larger pilot jet (not included in the dynojet kit) but if you look at the ignition curve in the manual it makes you think Yamaha don't want you to use lower revs.
