Front sprocket nut

Post by dzoltan82 »

Hello guys,

I am a 3AJ owner and I have the front sprocket nut problem. The thread on the nut is gone...
Currently I have applied Loctite to hold the nut at it's place. (I found this out before a short tour, had to do something fast.)

The part number 9089110124 seems to be the answer to my problem with the longer thread.

Can somebody confirm that this part number will fit the Tenere?
I have a front sprocket shaft with the threads and washer like on the picture, but the Yamaha dealer is confident that this will not fit my bike... :dunno:
Although he also states that there is an air cooled 660 Tenere... :bigeek:

Greetings,
Zoltan

Pretty sure that same nut does fit quite a few different yamaha models rd350,Tzr 250 and some yz models.

Hi Zoltan,

yes the nut will fit.
Your parts dealer is not up to date. The old style nut is not available anymore.

This nut is only good for one closing.
Always use a new one and a new washer after opening.

Thanks all for the confirmation!
I will insist on him orderingit.

Why only one closing?
Usually changing the washer is enough. Is it a lower grade material?
