Why?
- New dad recently, less and less long distance, enduro-touring riding.
- Altough new piston kit (1st stage - 90.5), the cylinder was wrongly rebuilt by the specialist the mechanic chose. Bigger diameter than specs (bigger tolerance). Resulted in low compression. A lot of the oil goes to the air filter box. 90 km/h touring mode, 100 km/h when taking over cars, 110 km/h maximum speed. Compared to 145 when she was ok.
- I do not have the nerves and neither the time to start fixing the engine again. Unhappily, last thing on my priorities list.
Almost everything is new or rebuilt:
- All (and i mean all) the metal parts were aluminium powder sandblasted and powdercoated, including frame. Engine was sandblasted with sodium bicarbonate so as not to get porous (you can sandblast glass with it and it will produce no scratch, whitening, frosting effect).
- New paint and stickers under two layers of coating/lacquer
- Totally rebuilt wheels. Spokes: sandpaper cleared using hand drill machine, acid pickling and then zinc coated; sandblasted/powdercoated wheels and hubs; new bearings
- Rebuilt saddle.
- Brand new - regulator rectifier, battery, chain, tubes, mirrors, levers, handgrips, bulbs, speedometer and tachometer cable, aftermarket windscreen, aluminium hand protectors, airfilter, etc
- Replaced with used but in very good condition – rear monoshock, pedals and pegs, enduro handlebar, dashboard black plastic support, turn signals, speed counter mechanism (at the wheel), carburettor to engine inlet rubbers,
- Brakes – New brakediscs (EBC), brakepads (Brembo), steel brakelines (Stahlflex) and changed both the pumping kits of the mastercylinders
- Suspenions - Wilbers progressive fork springs
- Engine – new camchain, new piston kit, new friction plates
- Kickstarter kit – 99% complete. Only 1 tiny part missing – a metal plate that holds the cable in place. It is mounted on the cylinder head cover
- All the seals and bearings were changed with new ones - including the yoke bearing and all the bearings from inside the engine
Included in the price – original fork springs, original windscreen, one extra saddle, one extra front fairing, one extra fuel tank (new old stock, no rust, never used, one scratch, no dent), one extra oil cooling kit (box + bigger, 1989, oil radiator), bent/repairable central stand, bent/repairable crashbars, dashboard frame + dashboard black plastic support, original refurbished hand protectors
Price for everything – 1650 Euros neg.
