top end rebuild - CAMCHAIN?

Not seen one with any problems with the guides or tensioner,unlike some other models,drz is known for a few tensioner dramas,some ktms,the earlier yzf or wrf250 is a bit of a shocker with the drive sprocket that's part of crank web wearing out and wrecking chain,valves etc..
I would ride one anywhere as long as gearbox is ok and lubrication circuit functioning right..the chain does seem to be pretty durable,certainly more so than the bicycle chain used in some modern cars for camchain....

If the guides have little or no noticeable wear, then I would happily re-use them. The main thing is to replace the chain, which you are doing. From my experience the spring loaded tensioner gives very little trouble, just make sure it is clean and that the ratchet mechanism works as it should.
