You can check for yourself now as you can check the part fiche`s accross the model ranges.

I've checked the parts books on here so I'll answer my own question...

same part no. for 34l, 55w and 1vj.

And id guess the same as the 43F (not tenere) just the normal XT600, which are more common.

Remember Tenere`s are just XT600`s underneath the 80`s bling (big tank, plastics & shoulderpads)

Whoa, back up the truck.

The 1VJ is electric start and takes the long crank to accommodate the starter gear and clutch.
That said, the short cranks interchange with all pre-89 non-electric start.
Electric start cranks from 88 to 95 will interchange with all electric start 600cc motors.
You cannot add electric start to a non-electric start motor.
