There isn't a big bracket for the 34L anyway, there's two brackets which bolt on to the top yoke (obsolete now) they are used to mount the indicators & the top of the headlamp surround (fairing thingy) the two bottom bolts fasten to the bottom yoke...
The headlamp is fitted to the plastic surround....

Sorry Marc, it makes sense now what you said about indicator brackets, I thought you meant additional to the frame.

Thanks for the photo Geoff, yes, can just about see a bracket , strange how they went from near nothing to a substantial frame (answering my own question there), anyone know of pattern parts? Or is this another rocking horse shit / chocolate fire guard part. Guess I might be able to whack a bracket together if I'm shafted.

Its frustration that all the microfiche part data I look at don't show small yoke brackets but strong large frames. I guess 30 year old data has a right to be corrupt.

Must be that the US has its own version because that's how mine is, same mounts and all. If you want to get rid of it I'll take it(depending on price), I need another for my "89.

The 34L doesnt have that headlight subframe like the 43F does (43F-23174-00-00) when you look at the plastic cowlings they are totally different.

Having fun trying to bleed the oil system, oil every where, too much in the tank (2.4 ltrs DOH), pressurizing and overflowing. I'm still having trouble thou, I'm filling oil through the oil check screw on top the filter housing, seems to go through and when it appears like its full I close the screw, I start it...undo the screw after a few seconds but I'm not seeing oil flow. tried filling whilst it ran, still no indication of pressure......I've had enough tonight....tomorrow I'm gonna try filling again. close screw, run motor for 60 secs (web search) and release screw looking for pressure, or is this wrong and a waste of time?

Indicator / cowl brackets, well I can buy a set for £48 or I can fabricate a pair, so I'm going to the scrap yard tomorrow (island crap for engineering parts) and buy a small piece of sheet steel, stainless maybe. anyone got a drawing of a basic shape that works? shouldn't be to hard to work from scratch but a drawing would save time.

Find some plastic pipe that just fits into the bleed hole snugly,run it back into the top of oil tank...I even found it hard to make a shit mess everywhere doing this....and if its remotely possible to have a massive oil spillage it happens to me...

I contacted a bloke on eBay who was stripping a 34L & asked if he had the indicator brackets... he'd actually left them on the indicators

I got em for a tenner.... you could do the same, there's several people stripping 34L's at the mo....

Bargain that Geoff, lucky bugger, I have been searching quite hard, all sorts of computations of input, especially xt600 breaking, parts, indicators, brackets, rebuild, project, still fail to find any at the mo apart from the new ott priced items, I recon 2 bits of alley/steel/stainless plate, overlapped to get the offset and a rivetnut for the cowl fixing might do the job, might try to find a sheet metal place to kink / set it, until I see the part on ebay.
