ADV riding mods done to my 4UX Tenere

My most fav problem decide to return to haunt me one day before departure. Murphy's law. The bike misses when I'm apply power above cruising power, but it is ok if it is opened wide. So I'm either holding it steady at cruising altitude or give it some. I'll post up more as I work thou the problem as I can live with it ATM and it works in my favior as there is lots of stupid emus and I have to nurse my body, the throttle cable and back tyre over the next few days

Day one is done. 500km. Lots of flat open tenere country. Have lowered my handle bars and moved the gps out into the wind to stop the dust settleing on it.

My pannier mounted tool box seems to be holding up ok.

Got to look at my scott oiler now as it seems to have stopped working. Gotta love doing maintenance with a head torch sitting in sand, luckily it not to cold tonight.

That was some of the best riding I've done
Bloody hard on the gear. Busted tank bag. The pannier mounted tool box coped a pounding but my saddle bags wet ok
Thanks

This is one of the dunes in Murray Sunset National Park

I camped in this NP. Great location. Did not see anyone for 200km which was half a day to get across.

Great country
Thanks

Hmmmm......nice adventure!

Thats some lake at the base of Big Red, :omg:
Did water give you any trouble on the ride?

How did the bike handle the soft sand? I will put my Sherlock deer stalker hat on :sherlock: and deduce by the tracks and footprints you had a little tumble here and stopped for a breather and to get the bike upright. :fall:
"Don't worry," he said, "things could be worse ........."
So I stopped worrying and lo and behold, things did get worse!

I came to a stop and the sand was so deep I over balanced. It happens.

This is what it looks like when it goes wrong

Got some better ones on my other camera that I'll post up later
