1vj-3aj gear sets the same?

as the title really, apart from the output shaft sprocket retaining differences are the gear sets the same?

Looks to be the same part numbers apart from the prefix ie 2RW-17411-00 on the 3AJ is 34L-17411-00 on the 1VJ (item 1 on the parts list
main axle).........item 15 (circlip) is the only difference I can see it's 93440-25019-00 on the 3AJ and 93440-25084 on the 1VJ.........may be just
stronger on the 3AJ?............bopster

No doubt someone will be along to correct me but to the best of my knowledge the 1VJ and 3AJ engines are the same. The only parts I have noticed labelled 3AJ are the right engine casing where the serial number is and the oil pump.

I think the fins on the heads of the 3AJ are a little different to promote better cooling to resolve issues of overheating that plagued the 1VJ. I think the heads are interchangeable but the 3AJ is the superior part.
