Hello Folks,
Looks like I'm ready to fully button up my engine prior to initial rebuild startup. (43F)
Searched around a bit but didn't find much info.
My grey matter seems to remember past discussions including:
Pre loading oil filter, priming oil pump, filling oilways, squeezing some oil into valve cover area, dumping in .5L in CC, priming by kicking over a bunch of times. Finally, slightly pressurizing the oil tank and pushing oil through the entire system???????
I was wondering if any experienced hands could pipe up and help out a confused DIY'er? Links???
My mechanic says fill the tank, a bunch of kicks to prime, light it up????
I know Aukeboss had some strong opinions on this stuff but dam if I can find his posting on this subject.
Many thanks for your help,
Pawlie

If you pretty much do the above and then kick over with the spark and oil bleed plugs out until oil flows from the oil bleed you will then be good to go.Pre loading oil filter, priming oil pump, filling oilways, squeezing some oil into valve cover area, dumping in .5L in CC, priming by kicking over a bunch of times.
Once running, look in the oil tank to make sure you have a healthy return flow.
If you have rebored or put in new rings there is there are further procedures to enhance ring bedding.
"Don't worry," he said, "things could be worse ........."
So I stopped worrying and lo and behold, things did get worse!
