"Don't worry," he said, "things could be worse ........."
So I stopped worrying and lo and behold, things did get worse!

Ha ha ha,after seeing one plastic rocket after another or groups of them, that only usually venture out if its perfect weather I was astounded to see a tenere...I have no idea why so many people have this thing for sports bikes, maybe there just not my thing...

Strange that but i get the same feeling about sports bikes, been using my XT500s for the last week and a half and i think the fastest i have done is 55mph,
no speed freak but at least i can take in the countryside and have a longer ride to work at this speed.

Can you imagine all those yogurt can racers chasing Tenere parts for their restos?
Better this way.......we "tranquilo" buying vintage bike parts, they $$$$$$$$$$$ plastic parts and leather/kevlar suits.

I can't see some of the newer generation of fuel injected bikes actually still working in 25 years time......and that's assuming one has ploughed it into rear end of a tractor doing 186mph on a country road....ha...

I suspect there will be loads of pristine sports bikes around in 25 years time, with less than 10,000 miles on their clocks judging by how often some of them are taken out.

I do like fast plastic, the look, feeling & speed but you can only really use them on the track, too many FEDs, bumps & innocent potential victims on the road.

Just wish their riders would learn to take a curve quicker, nothing wrong with the bikes, so why am I being held up mid corner :rage:

Sort of unintentionally I've ended up doing 10,000 miles on the tenere in the last 11 months, most of it on 2 trips,I can see what you mean by some of the road riders nearly stop on tighter bends,I found I can probably go faster on a traily than I can on road bike as The thought of all that expensive smashed body work is not playing on your mind?.....
About 10 years ago I had a drz 400 brand new,it looked completely wrecked in under a year, but I did ride....across europe, across fields, around motocross tracks and a few enduro events and had a scream on it so who cares...

It wasn't me but my Tenere (blue 55W) is currently in Farnham so very close to Alton.

I live in London and I've seen two different 34Ls very close to where I live. Very nice to see them out and about being used!
