Bopsters new shed

Post by bopster »

this turned up on ebay the other day only about 20 miles away seemed like there was not a lot
of interest so I thought it would produce some spares if nothing else so I stuck a bid in a few pounds
above the highest bid and left it at that fully expecting to get outbid, however when I got home and
checked my email I found I was now the proud owner of a XT550 for the grand sum of £128 the engine
is siezed through standing the front end is from a 600 the tank is good seat is solid just needs a cover
will give it a good check over this weekend and take some better photos.........bopster

Yeah I'm happy with the deal, will probably just strip it for now to see what it needs, the engine is siezed but I think the
600 top end bolts right on? if this is the case I have a spare top end,
but for now I have too many bikes that all need a bit of TLC so this one is way down the list, my original intention was
to break it for spares but looking around I think they are few and far between and does fill a gap in my collection slywink: between
the 500 and 600..........Super ten next?
Found a 550 workshop manual on line in PDF format will send it in when I can...........cheers bopster (XT550 parts wanted)

The XT600 is an over bored XT550 (from reading somewhere on here) :book:

And apparently the XT550 is an over bored XT400 :shades:

So there's another to keep an eye out for your collection.

1982 XT400.

Would be nice to afford & own the entire family, Mark (TommyTenBikes) is part way there.

not for me I would like a 250 at some point but set my heart on a YZ250 or dare I say it a TY250 but for now I really need more space.
Mark has an excellent selection of Yams and seems to be able to restore them very quickly to a superb standard, always a joy to see
his latest offering. his sonauto replica should be a real treat..................especially the graphics
