Re: Tanks for the advice.

Thanks Mezo, do you think I can adapt the tank in the 1VJ?
Do you know where I can find mounting instructions?
I was thinking that, maybe, I could try to use another type of air filter... don't know if I can do that... :banghead:

Re: Tanks for the advice.

Hello Guys,

I just got a tank just like one of those and I am kind of lost because I own a Brazilian version of the 1VJ (called 2TY) and the tank (43F with the inscription Yamaha XT Desert) does not fit because of the huge air filter under the tank. :wtf:

Can anyone help me or indicate how I ...

Re: CDI compatibility

I had problems with my 1VJ CDI and found a used one. It was not cheap, but apparently is the best alternative.
There are some CDI boxes that are fabricated for the 1VJ in Brazil, some people use it without problems, some prefer the used originals. I heard that some use CDIs from other bikes but I ...

Re: Spokes

If you have a 17 inch spare rim you can use it with a tire that has a taller band. It would make very little difference (compared to the original 18 inch rim) and would be a nice experiment, since you already bought the spokes.

Where do you find that stainless steel exhaust manifold? it makes all the difference in this bike. :omg:

Re: Eric66 34L Resto

I saw that you have some broken engine cases and I am not sure if you heard about JB weld. I was told it is the best welod glue in the world, and I read that even truck engines could be repaired using that.

Not original (NOS) but it could work for what you need. You just need to translate your requests to Portuguese using google translator. www.mercadolivre.com.br is the equivalent in Brazil to eBay.
You can search ...

Re: Eric66 34L Resto

Hello Guys,

The only issue seems to be the size of the package, and (perhaps) import taxes (not sure how it works for you guys).
If you need my help, please, let me know. I bought all the plastics for my blue 2TY (1VG) and I am happy with the quality of the material (value for money).
I will try to ...

Re: Eric66 34L Resto

Try sending the message in Portuguese (use google translator) and add a line explaining you got their contact using the XT 600 club. The shipping cost may be very high, because the parts are big (side panels). I would also suggest that you may want to put your local dealer with the company that ...
