Ventured into the garage tonight to have a go at undoing the flywheel nut. Had her indoors standing on the brake pedal with gearbox in 5th but all to no avail. Right then it looks like copious amounts of boiling water being poured over the flywheel shortly before turning the flywheel puller. Best get a bucket ready as we'll then. Looking forward to the "experience"later in the week. Failing that it will get some attention from my rubber mallet.
