Hey guys just thought I would share my experience of putting a set of WR forks on my Tenere.
Just picked up the set of WR400 forks and tripple clamps this morning and stripped the old set out of my Tenere.
Everything looks perfect except for a few minor mods ie: speedo drive,steering stops,ignition barrell relocation(no more steering lock),retaining low mud guard,brake line route with WR guides,handle bar spacers as bars are too low now.
Also swapping stems in the tripple clamps and a bush made for the top tripple clamp as XTZ stem is thinner.
The reason I have chosen this conversion is my Tenere fork seals are blown anyway and wanted to upgrade whether it be heavier springs or WR forks.
I got the WR front cheap and my brother has already done the conversion on his 2003 XT600E with WR forks and has also converted his to a Motard with WR wheels and massive 320mm Braking oversize rotor and Braking caliper.
Incredible bike to ride through the twisties :drool:
Anyways will add some photos,so far all is looking good for a fairly simple conversion :lol: hopfully :stir:

Trying to track down a low front fender to fit to it,anyone know of where I could locate a WR450 Rallye front fender,I believe its the same as the style used on the Dakar WR450's? :ears:

The whole front end (triples, 48mm WP`s, wheel) the whole lot came from a late KTM EXC crosser, i think it was a 250? could have been a 450? and same went for the shock again it was from a KTM.

They are all pretty similar, they all use White Power forks & Ohlins shocks, just a matter of making them fit. Just keep an eye out for an old KTM crosser with a blown motor, flick off the other parts on ebay & you will get free decent suspension to play with.

Nice job Mezo :nod: I had thought about a set of WP KTM forks,but after seeing how easy the WR Kayaba's were to bolt on(as on the XT600E) I thought I would take the easy option.
Wish my lounge was big enough to put my bike in :lol:
