Hi everyone,
let me introduce myself first. I'm Carel from the Netherlands. I purchased a running faraway blue 1VJ last summer and it will be my next project bike. Started working on it last couple of weeks. More pictures, progress and questions will follow soon. I already did a few things but the list is quite long. I'll post it later.
2KF Fender after removal of black paint:
Current state
Tank exterior
Hope to get some help and advice here!
Regards, Carel

I started with the electronics, I've got the dynamo stator and rectifier tested at carmo electronics. Both were broken so they need to be replaced. CDI seems oke but will let it get diagnosed to be sure.
stator:
Next issue is the front side. The front axle is straight but the alignmant is off as you can see in the pictue. The bike doesn't ride completely straight due to this issue. The bike might have had a crash in the past?
Figuring out what is causing this... front axle seems to be straight, fork legs fit snug in the upper clamp and yoke. Left front forkleg could be the culprit... All suggestions are welcome in this puzzle.
Tank is still with the painter guy. Takes a while.

re-alignment interesting as it looks like the bott of the you is aligned to the wheel. I would swap over the handle bar clamps and inspect. Slacken off the forks clamps and see if if the top you will twist back into place. Good luck

Thanks for the tip! Worth a try. It is a bit of a puzzle I’ll just keep on it. Seems a bit better now after some fiddling.
New electronics are in. New stator and reg/rec from Carmo.
On with the programme

That's good to hear. Before I can install the new stator I have to attach the wires from the stator to the connector (3 white and 1 red) with the supplied faston plugs. Does it matter in which order the 3 white wires are connected in the connector to the regulator / rectifier? I would recon it makes no difference (except for the red wire) but just checking if anyone has experience with this.

Hi! I know it's been ages, but do you remember if the replacement stator came with the grommet required? Mine's failed and I'm really struggling to find a replacement!
