Crank Case cover compatibility?

Hey Everyone,
I tried searching, but the search engine was not kind with its results. :dunno: :bag:
like may others my oil filter housing bolts have been stripped and heli-coiled by previous owners and it still doesnt torque up nice enough not to leak :banghead: . So I'm looking for a better clutch-side case cover.
I wanted to confirm if the 3TB and onwards (Clutch side) Crank case cover (p/n: 3DS-15430-00) is compatible with the earlier 43f crank cases (p/n: 5y1-15431-03)
My photographic comparison of googled images :book: seems like the insides match, I think the casting for the kickstarter and decomp mech has changed? but on a positive side, the gasket is the same for all years, so that suggests the mating surfaces are the same.

Has anyone tried swapping them in past? :dunno:

thanks

Yeah it fits, we talked about this a few weeks ago & its been done by a guy on the HUBB, you have to blank off an oil line next to the oil filter with a bolt (yours doesn't have that oil line) and the blank plates for the kicker & decomp knock out.

Mezo.

Thanks Mr Mezo.

I nearly bought a very original 83 model tenere instead... but $3500 and driving to Orange NSW is a bit of a turn off.
