1VJ coil

When l purchased my 1VJ it had a huge Bosch coil, resistance is 1.6 ohms, it says on it use with resistor - no sign of one. What damage is possible as a result of using this? The bike was a non runner when purchased due to head gasket issues
l have found this and it mentions 0.6 ohms

l see on the 3AJ manual that resistance should be 0.15 - 0.21 ohms.
