More electrical woes

Bike will run ok for 15 minutes then start misfiring and stop wait a couple of minutes restart run for 200 mtrs and cut out.
difficult to start with problems getting the starter to work if i use the clutch lever the starter then works can i bypass the clutch switch i.e join the wires?

Hi,
problems may not be related.

If the bike dies and starts a bit later, check valve clearance (too tight?) and tank breather or kinked fuel hose.

For clutch switch: this overrides the neutral condition, eg if first is engaged the bike will not start until you shift in neutral OR stay in first AND pull the clutch.
If you try starting in neutral and it only works with clutch pulled, there may be a problem with the neutral switch. Is the green neutral light working as it should be?

Neutral light works ok, i am checking the valve clearances tomorrow someone else raised that one, tank breather is clear, bike will only start in neutral not with the lever pulled in.

Valve clearances were slightly off not enough to effect the running, all the electrics were OK,
The problem was fuel starvation the fuel pipe with in-line filter was too short so it had a right angled kink in it rather than a smooth radius.
That explains the running for a couple of minutes then cutting out.

can you blame the bike !? I have had similar issues but I reckon I have cracked it hopefully know at the weekend - old fuel quick release connectors - I think they are restricting/stopping fuel.

No you can't blame the bike but you've got to swear at something
the fuel problem sounds familiar just removed an in-line filter to improve the flow i will try it tomorrow.

Finally sorted it took the in line filter off and shortened the fuel hose immediately went from a trickle to a flow so the problem was fuel starvation rode the bike around the block for about 30 minutes so it was in easy pushing distance of home just in case.
Plus the the rubber washer on the filler cap was the wrong way round with the lip facing in not out and when closed it was partially restricting the vent.
