They are not the same (I learnt the hard way of course). Which one are you after, I assume IvJ?

The 3AJ version has a mounting for the helmet lock and the rails forward of the rack are different length/angles.

thanks for that fella. I had assumed, which is always a poor starting point, that the two carriers were the same.
I've now checked the two part numbers and they're different
